Getting Started with Mimic App

If you have ANY trouble using Mimic, or just have general questions about how to get the most out of it, the best support will come over e-mail.

Supported Devices

Mimic is only available on iOS devices equipped with the True Depth camera.
iPhone X, XR, XS, 11, and 12
iPad Pro 12.9 (3rd gen) and iPad Pro 11-inch

Step 1 – Install Mimic XR App

  1. If you haven’t already, download the app from the Apple App Store

Step 2 – Blender Plugin Installation

Download the Blender plug-in

Mimic Blender Plugin

  1. Download the plug-in ☝️☝️ 
  2. Install the Blender Plugin
    • In Blender, choose Edit > Preferences from menu bar
    • click Add-ons
    • click Install
    • choose .zip file downloaded in step 2
    • click check box next to Mimic listing

Step 3 – First Mimic Capture

  1. Download the Example .blend File and 
  2. Open with Blender
  3. Configure Settings, making sure Blender and Mimic settings match. (Screenshot)
  4. Click “Listen” in Blender plug-in 
  5. Press “Capture” in Mimic to start Streaming!
